Brute Orbits

by George Zebrowski

Brute Orbits is a speculation about imprisonment away from earth in a future where longevity is the norm. There's no main character as the action is in different places and times. It is very wordy, but well written and thoughtful. There isn't much 'action' as such.

The judge said, "Perhaps it will prevent that other part of you from ever coming out again. I sentence you to thirty years in the Orbits. And for the record, I don't believe your story for one moment. No one does." You'll never be back, his eyes said, whoever you are.
"Goodbye, Mr Emmons."
