by Keigo Higashino

I was expecting evocative prose and high cultural Japanese drama, so this was surpringly a very easy read. It felt very much like a western storyline set in a loose oriental context. This novel offers a slightly different perspective to the basic plot of mother and daughter switching bodies. Enjoyable and light.

Then he thought of something: if it had been the real Monami going through this experience, they certainly wouldn't be responding to it in such a dazed manner: they would be celebrating. So he said: 'Well then, Congratulations!'
