This is one of the funniest books I've read in years. The world of humans viewed from a dog's point of view is a revelation. That coupled with the concept of a poker playing and losing, but honest estate agent make for a hilarious read but one not without moments of pathos. I don't know where Mark Barrowcliffe gets his ideas from but I hope he keeps on getting them.

'The pack leader has demanded, therefore I must yield,' said the dog, 'though might I formally request he leave some of the tenderest parts for me.' I wondered when I had become pack leader. I have to say, though, thinking of myself in that way did send a ripple of pride up my spine. The other thing that struck me was how normal it felt to have the dog talking. In the space of ten minutes it had come to seem like the most natural thing in the world.
