Hitomi Kanehara

Teenager Rin lives a nomadic life amid the gaming casinos and disco clubs in Tokyo. She clings onto whatever security she can find. Her life is tragic but Rin has one talent - she can write and her thoughts are conveyed in brilliantly direct prose as she vividly describes her life backwards from age 22 to 15 years. The descriptions of lowlife Tokyo and the teenage culture associated with the casinos and dance halls are very powerful.
