The Language of Others

He released the pressure suddenly so that I nearly fell over, and smiled, charming again. 'It's all right,' he said gently. 'Don't cry.'
He held his arms out and I stepped into them, my cheeks hot against the rough fabric of his jacket. 'We need each other Jess. We're not like other people. No-one else would have us.'
