And so it went on for several weeks with the Lord's blessing. Ahmed and Omar behaved warmly towards me and joked in Arab dialect, had fun fixing shifts for our splendid union and their respective services. Sometimes, after the litanies, they were visited by other compatriots and I felt at ease in their smoke-filled, packed oratory, immersed in an atmosphere propitious for contemplating the divine mysteries.
