Holophin by Luke Kennard

Holophin

Luke Kennard

Slight, elegant and deceptively simple, this near-future tech tale spins an uncomfortably plausible world, and within it, a delicate but addictive web of a story. It glitters and shimmers, but there's a core of tension-silk strength underpinning it all, drawing you in, and reflecting the world through its re-shaped lens.

Extract
This Holophin is glittery and rainbow coloured, like a slick of petrol. Hatsuka uses this one for the usual perception tweaks, networking, mental hygiene, entertainment and menial jobs, as well as her open source memory and dream software. The other (me) she keeps towards the base of her spine. This one is blank, white and pearlescent. Nobody knows about this one.
