Tim and Pete by James Robert Baker

Tim and Pete

James Robert Baker

If you are gay, you will recognise the characters, and if you are straight you might be surprised by some of the more volatile ones!

Extract
I sat down at one of the cocktail tables across from the bar. Most of the crowd was below on the dance floor, nuevo-beatnik college students, art scene types, cool young guys, both gay and straight, bi- and a-, soulful young women in black.

As I waited for Kevin, I had a mild alienation attack. All around me at the other tables there were couples, both straight and gay, who seemed committed, with an intimate shorthand rapport, as they joked and laughed. The sort of rapport I'd had for a while with Pete. I still didn't think I could find that again that easily, even if I had been looking.
