The Siege by Helen Dunmore

The Siege

Helen Dunmore

I felt I was there, in Leningrad, with Anna, living the life she lived during the siege. A story with hope and despair finely balanced. Very realistic and at times difficult to remember it is a novel.

Extract

The bread supply didn't arrive this evening. Four trucks shelled yesterday someone said.
