Later, by the bins at the back of Tesco’s, where the street sleepers waited like Dickensian poor-boys for past the sell by date sandwiches, he asked the others about her. ‘The lass has probably gone home, back to her family, someone would have come for her. Even a charming fuckhead like you, Jimmy-boy is no substitute for’ a good ruby murray and a clean bed,’ Alan said. 
‘No. That’s not it.’ Jimmy shook his head.
