Paradise by A L Kennedy

A L Kennedy

This is a must read book - one of the best I have read in years! Hannah is so alive, so intelligent - I read this book at a sitting to find out how she came to be in this state - and whether she could survive it! It is a brutally honest account of alcoholism but has much dark humour throughout.

It's a persuasive hypothesis - it just doesn't persuade me. I feel grisly because I have done something grisly, not because of drink. But if I now go down to the bar I can have another drink and that will make me feel not grisly at all, I can guarantee. People who do not drink correctly cannot understand.
