One Part Woman

Perumal Murugan

The sensitive subject of infertility is dealt with tenderly and honestly in this Indian tale. A devoted married couple are desperate for a baby of their own, and the lengths to which they go to for this basic human right is sorrowful to read. The surprise ending allows the reader to draw their own conclusions to a story that is anything but predicable.
