Wolfy and the Strudelbakers

Zvi Jagendorf

This is a story of displacement and exile. Live alongside Jewish immigrants evacuated from London during WW2. Laugh and cry with Wolfy - a growing boy, trying to make sense of his new home and the contridictions of the two worlds he must inhabit.

Extract
'Why ,children, did the mother of Lord Jesus Christ have her little baby in a manger ?'
Wolfy put his hand up.
'Because they were bombed out.'
Everyone turned to look at Wolfy the newcomer from London. He was one of the evacuated children who had arrived in the village with their families because of the Blitz. But he wasn't really from London; he was from somewhere else.
