A Pleasure and a Calling by Phil Hogan

A Pleasure and a Calling

Phil Hogan

This is a creepy tale with an absurdly humorous and intriguing plot. An obsessive estate agent believes he is the moral guardian of his community, so he retains the keys to all the houses he sells which leads to unimaginable sinister consequences. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the estate agent’s disturbing double life, and also following every twist and turn of each house owner’s door key.

I have had my moments of accidents and adventure. I have filmed myself cowering in the dusty underspace of a bed while a man in a hurry to catch a train ironed a shirt in the same room. I have been illumined without warning in the small back garden of a young woman after dark (I might as well tell you now that this was Zoe).
