Cradle Song by Robert Edric

Cradle Song

Robert Edric

Realistic Northern 'noir' which could well do for Hull what 'Get Carter' did for Newcastle. The graphic descriptions of child pornography though are definitely not for the sensitive or squeamish.

Extract
We drove into the city centre and out along Anlaby Road before Smart told us what had happened.
'The fire brigade phoned in a suspicious house fire. Someone from Tower Grange went along. Howdale Avenue, North Hull.'
The address meant nothing to either Finch or myself.
'It's where Boyd lives,' Smart said. 'Petrol through the letter box and more squirted down the hallway for good measure.'
