Football Seasons by Mick Bower

Football Seasons

Mick Bower

Although I couldn't stand the main character in this book -an arrogant, self-centred ex-footballer determined to let nothing get in his way - he is totally believable, even with the shocking and violent lengths he goes to to protect himself and his burgeoning new media career. Gripping but uncomfortable reading.

I slipped up at the lights at Streatham Hill. It wasn't my fault. I stayed in the right-hand lane all the way up to the crossroads. I didn't know it was for turning right only. When I got up to the junction the lights were changing to red. If I'd not gone the cunts in the other lane wouldn't have let me over. Never do in London. Even if they want to, they've got some bastard up their arse going berserk.
