We follow Faith from childhood through her teens, with all the temptations of drugs, drink and boys, into adulthood. She is determined to remain optimistic even though her dysfunctional family are a great disappointment to her. A compulsive read that will appeal to younger readers - more substance than the usual chicklit.

Siphoning off some of my mom's vodka, and using flat ginger ale as a mix, I told him I was doing okay, hated gym and my trig teacher, but what are you going to do? He drank his vodka straight. I asked, How are you doing Luke, as I inhaled, swallowed and leaned back with my arms crossed, feeling grown up from the cocktail and alive from the pot.
