A gripping thriller written with pace and excitement rather than depth. A book to take to the beach or to help you relax on the sofa after a hard day. The heroes are men of few words and the villains are over the top psychopaths. However there is still plenty in the plot to keep you guessing and turning the pages. Be warned it is part of a series and you could get hooked!

Extract
At eye level a black-handled knife was stuck deep in the door's wood frame. Fluttering in a light breeze was a yellow Post-it note pinned in place by the point of the blade. Thorn leaned close and read the words scrawled in what looked like purple crayon:

THREE MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE GIRL. OR ITEMS OF EQUAL VALUE. GO AHEAD CALL THE POLICE IF YOU CAN'T HELP YOURSELF.
BUT IT WON'T DO YOU ANY GOOD.
