Notes for a War Story

Gipi &nbsp

A description of how ordinary people can descend into barbarity through no fault of their own. It will not answer your questions, but it will make you think, 'Could this be me'?

Extract

I'd been to the city before. My father had taken me with him several times. When he had to go to a conference, an exhibition or a presentation for one of his books. But this time it was totally different. We entered the city through a secret gate. Christian was happy. And Little Killer looked at the city as it were a calm, defenceless sea, seen from the bridge of a pirate ship
