Silent Words by Joan Drury

Silent Words

Joan Drury

A really engrossing, but gentle murder mystery with lots of twists and turns. The setting - a small town on Lake Superior made it for me too.

Extract
Ostensibly, I was going to Minnesota to sell the house there. My grandfather's house. No, actually my granmother's house. This was the first mystery .... But I was wrong. This wasn't the first mystery; it was the second one. The first mystery was my mother, on her deathbed, telling me to 'go home and shake all the skeletons .... You can find it. It's important.' To find out - what? Some secret. Some silence that needed to be broken.
