Horse Latitudes

by Jay Merrick

After a slow start, I found that this book really began to grip - although the story is so strange that I'm not sure why I became so absorbed. A critic described the book as 'Heart of Darkness' meets 'Brave New World' and maybe that's why I would recommend that you read it and find out for yourself.

'We are people with histories that don't fit the revised textbooks, that fail the preferred Demicorp model ... we have been jettisoned and we are alone - and, if we're honest, we're happy with that.'

Flotsam & Jetsam by Somerset Maugham
The Man Who Would be King by Rudyard Kipling
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
