Tempting Faith DiNapoli by Lisa Gabriele

Tempting Faith DiNapoli

Lisa Gabriele

We follow Faith from childhood through her teens, with all the temptations of drugs, drink and boys, into adulthood. She is determined to remain optimistic even though her dysfunctional family are a great disappointment to her. A compulsive read that will appeal to younger readers - more substance than the usual chicklit.

Extract
Luke rolled a joint and asked me about school. Siphoning off some of my mom's vodka, and using flat ginger ale as a mix, I told him I was doing okay, hated gym and my trig teacher, but what are you going to do? He drank his vodka straight. I asked, How are you doing Luke, as I inhaled, swallowed and leaned back with my arms crossed, feeling grown up from the cocktail and alive from the pot.
