Boy A by Jonathan Trigell

Boy A

Jonathan Trigell

This book tackles the bleak cold theme of child murderers and what happens to them after conviction and release. It is very thought provoking and after you've read it you will never view child criminals the same again. It shows that Boy A even as an adult cannot leave the past behind, and exposes the flimsy raft of lies on which his existence depends.

'Don't sing,' said another voice, softly from in the cell. Hacendado was sitting up, blanket still over his lap. 'But you heard him, he said he do me if I don't.' 'And if you give in he'll make you sing it again and again until you can't do it anymore; and then maybe he'll do you anyway. You've got to keep your fucking dignity in here, man. It's all you've got.'
